Great for my grandchildren

This was a wonderful and insightful book. It addressed issues that I never thought about when I was a mother. Having read it , I am giving it to my children for my grandchildren. This is a generation that is even more competitive than ours. The pressures are greater and this book offers a perspective that alleviates some of the angst that permeates parents today. It offers great insight for our children bringing up less stressful children.

Very helpful

A child counsellor recommended this book to me for help with my 10 yr old daughter. I found it much better than I'd expected. It was easy to read, easy to follow, using clear examples that were familiar and thus accessible, to do with managing friendships, school and schoolwork, and sports activities, all of which make up the entire world of my daughter. In the two weeks that I've read and applied the advice of this book, I've seen my daughter grow in confidence and healthy self-assurance. Its a must read for all parents.

Parents, don't miss this book!

While no child arrives with an instruction manual, this creative book comes pretty close. Nancy Eppler-Wolff and Susan Davis have combined clinical observation, scientific research and anecdotal composites to address the quandries parents face as they navigate the challenging path of child rearing. Their suggestions will prove invaluable to people raising young children, and useful even for interactions in the adult world. The writing style is accessible and clear--an enjoyable read.
