But you might want to consider getting the latest edition of Cliff Notes on Anatomy and Physiology instead--I found it to be MUCH MUCH better.

Good Review, Cheap Paper

Book goes into great detail. My only complaint is the very cheap, thin paper that it's printed on; unfortunately all the Schaum's books that I've gotten are printed on the same cheap paper. I also have "Barron's E-Z Anatomy" which is just as good as Schaum's, but is printed on a higher grade paper, it also costs less.

Novel concept of discussion - connecting human physiology with engineering

As indicated by its sub-title “Linking Physiological Phenomena and Biosignals”, this book follows a novel concept - and I think it is the latter that makes the text exceptional. Usual books on biomedical signals are focussed on the detection and processing of signals, while their closer physiological interpretation is left to the physician or the biologist. In the here given case, the author provides a clear physiological basis, prior to the discussion of the corresponding signals. Starting with mutual interactions of ions, cells, tissues and organs, the text continues with interrelations that show how vital parameters such as respiration, blood pressure or oxygenation are reflected by electric, acoustic or optic biosignals. This strategy favours both an understanding of optimum signal detection and a deeper interpretation of results.

I appreciate the composition of this book. The running text offers quite simple readability, supported by numerous figures with consistent indication of location and type of applied sensors. On the other hand, experts in biomedical engineering will welcome the high amount of comprehensive footnotes.

Playing with history

I read a lot of science fiction and I'm always interested when I come across new ideas about time travel. This book is a fantastic speculative thriller that continues a great story. The author asks big questions about what it would actually mean to change history, and not just from the perspective of physics, but from the perspective of the rights and wrongs. His take on how time travel works and its use in the future is really quite unique.

Exciting!

Fast-paced, vibrant and really exciting, this sequel to Timesplash is awesome! If you haven't yet read Timesplash you should do yourself a favor and grab a copy. Graham Storrs is an excellent writer not just of science fiction but of thrillers. His imagination is wild and this book really pushes the limits. The stakes are high, the action is great and the characters are relatable. Well worth it!

Good read, reasonable pace. There were some reviews about the book being anti-Christian, not sure I agree. It described a run-away religion based on Christianity, unfortunately in history it's happened a few times before - so why should it not happen again? There were a few key sentences to position and show Graham Storrs had insight into this, but they could be missed.

This conference aims to provide a high-level international forum that researchers with different backgrounds and who are working in the related areas can use to present their latest results and exchange ideas. Additionally, the growing trend in Emergent Systems has resulted in the inclusion of two other closely related fields in the BIC-TA 2013 event, namely Complex Systems and Computational Neuroscience.

Professor Zhixiang Yin is the Dean of the School of Science, Anhui University of Science & Technology, China. Professor Linqiang Pan is the head of the research group of Natural Computing at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. Professor Xianwen Fang also works at the Anhui University of Science & Technology.
