About the Author
Margaret H. Greenberg is a sought-after executive coach by Fortune 500 executives. She holds a BA in sociology from the University of Hartford and a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania. Greenberg lives in Connecticut with her husband and has two grown daughters.
Senia Maymin is an executive coach to entrepreneurs and CEOs. She holds a BA in math and economics from Harvard University, an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MAPP from the University of Pennsylvania, and is completing her PhD in organizational behavior at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She lives in California with her family.

Just Read it Cover to Cover

I just read Profit from the Positive - cover to cover - on a flight to and from DC and Houston. It was phenomenal - so practical, so accessible, and so "right on!" I also enjoyed the tone of the writing - not academic, not preachy, just straightforward and clear. The Positive Psychology context is interesting, the tools are immediately useable, and the client stories make it all real. These two executive coaches / writers absolutely know what they are talking about. I'd recommend this book to leaders and managers who are interested in moving their effectiveness up a notch or two. Well done Senia and Margaret.

A Personal Effectiveness Toolkit

Profit from the Positive is a must-read for anyone who cares about being effective. With a rare and refreshing blend of best practices from top business leaders and positive psychology concepts framed by two executive coaches with a wealth of experience, Greenberg and Maymin have created an impressively straightforward toolkit for practical and immediate personal change.
The coaching style of the two authors comes across brilliantly in writing that is both dense with insight and a joy to read. Pick and choose relevant chapters to address a specific issue or read cover to cover as a comprehensive leadership handbook. I bought the book to help my clients bring out the best in themselves, but consistently find that I'm also using these tips on myself.
Reading Profit from the Positive feels like you've stolen the notebook of a world class executive coach and gotten away with all the great ideas at almost no cost. Take them and run with them!

A practical must read for managers/leaders and those who aspire to be...

This book presents ideas and strategies that can be put into practice immediately. What makes this book special are the sheer number of practical real life examples presented to support the strategies. This allows for a quick relation to be formed between what is presented and what is happening in your team today. I've read many good books on the topic of leadership strategy but many times I've question just how experienced the author was with the challenges I'm facing....this book leaves no doubt and is written with a tone and flow that makes it not only easy to read, but also gives the reader confidence that implementing these strategies will improve you and your team's productivity. Although all the ideas are not new, they are presented in a manner that is unlike anything I've ever read and it is obvious the authors put this into practice daily.
One area that I saw an immediate impact was in the area of performance review....a part of my job that can sometimes be lackluster, including the end result. Using guidance from the book, I completed what was easily the most powerful and practical review/preview of performance with one of my team members. For this alone, I would recommend the book.
