Ana Pacheco has deep roots in Santa Fe. Her ancestor Diego de Vargas led the city's resettlement in 1692, Don Gaspar Avenue is named after her great-great-great grandfather Don Gaspar Ortiz, and Pacheco Street is named for her great-grandfather José de la Cruz Pacheco.

Mil gracias, Ana Pacheco. Legendary Locals of Santa Fe is an invaluable reference book, as well as a book to enjoy sitting in a comfy chair with a cup of tea. I am a long-time New Mexican and a relative newcomer to Santa Fe (20 years), and enjoy reading about friends and neighbors and folks I’d like to get to know or wish I’d known. This would be a perfect gift, for an oldtimer or a newcomer to The City Different.

I lived in Santa Fe as a teenager and my family was involved in NM politics. I was disappointed in the book since I knew so few people discussed in the book. And it did not include several people I thought should have been recognized.
