Huddling, fluttering, and creeping animals

This book's lovely illustrations of animals in the midst of movement captured the attention of my 15 month old son. These mixed media illustrations have a three dimensional look, with clay sculpted animals and cut out paper clouds. The detail is quite amazing.
The text is simple, but sweet. Each page tells how different animals move, and the book finds unity in a rhyming structure that's perfect for reading aloud. It's a great book for discussing different types of movement, from dashing to fluttering. Here's a taste of the book's style:
Robin shelters,
Squirrel scrambles.
Chipmunk skitters,
Racoon ambles.

Great boardbook, not enough text for a hardcover

This book is great as a board book because it one sentence on each page. I like that it is more like a rhyme then just text. The illistrations are make out of clay looks like and cut outs. That makes the book very special and different then all the other books out there.
The rhyme includes alot of animals: duck, caterpillar, fox, mouse, beaver, frog, .... . And the rhyme includes what they usually like to do, like the beaver swims and the frog leaps.
It is very sweet, but like I said in the caption, for a hard book is doesnt have enough text.
This is great for a babies board book library.
Especially when summer comes up.
